Teresa Fernández Ulloa
Associate Professor of Spanish
California State University, Bakersfield

I have been organizing conferences where the topic of women rights, women issues, and feminism has been considered.

I have also taught overload and independent courses, and service courses (passion courses) at my university (CSUB) related to women, for example: "Violence against women" and "Spanish literature written by women". During the next quarter I will also develop a project to work with the Battered Women´s Shelter in Bakersfield, CA.

Rebecca Ulland
Associate Professor of Spanish
Dept. of Modern Languages & Literatures
Northern Michigan University

I have been a member of Feministas Unidas for approximately ten years. I was a panelist in the Feministas Unidas session at the South Atlantic Modern Language Association in 2007 and 2011. Additionally, I served on the selection committee for the Feministas Unidas graduate student essay prize (at the request of María Calatayud) in 2011 and 2012. In other professional service activities, I served as secretary of the regular session ³Women Writers of Spain and Latin America² at the South Atlantic Modern Language Association from November 2009-2011 and assumed the role of chair for 2011-2012. At Northern Michigan University, where I am currently an Associate Professor of Spanish, I am serving my third year as chair of the Committee on Elections and Committees. Additionally, I have also served as a departmental representative to the Academic Senate. My scholarship includes publications and research on post-dictatorship
fiction from Argentina. Feministas Unidas is an important organization for our profession. As Vice President, I would seek to raise its profile and expand our reach to other regional Modern Language Association conferences.
