CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL “El cine y la televisión en la España de la Post-Transición (1979-1992)” El Grupo de Investigación TECMERIN (Televisión y Cine: Memoria, Representación, Industria) del Departamento de Periodismo y Comunicación Audiovisual de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid está preparando el CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL “EL CINE Y LA TELEVISIÓN EN LA ESPAÑA DE LA POST-TRANSICIÓN (1979-1992)” y llama a la participación a especialistas e investigadores. Fecha: 10 y 11 de diciembre de 2015 Lugar: Campus de Getafe, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Los interesados en participar deberán mandar un resumen (400 palabras) en español o inglés (formato PDF) a la dirección congresopostransicion@gmail.com antes del día 1 de septiembre de 2015. Las ponencias aceptadas se anunciarán el 15 de septiembre. Se aceptarán también propuestas de video-ensayos (10 minutos como máximo de duración) siempre que tengan un cariz investigador. Film, Power, and the Gendered Gaze. http://www.cfplist.com//nemla/Home/S/15780 Submit Abstract Primary Area / Secondary Area Cultural Studies and Media Studies / Women's and Gender Studies Chair(s) Kathryn Everly (Syracuse University) Abstract Women directors in Hollywood have garnered significant media attention for their concerns regarding their visibility in the profession and the lack of big studio support of women in film. While the focus in Hollywood may be on the low number of recognized successful women directors, underlying questions of traditional gender stereotypes in film, and in the media in general, fuel the debate of who has the power to mass-produce images. Given the relative success of women directors in non-North American cinemas, such as Agnès Varda from France, who was the first woman awarded the Palme d’honneur at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015 for her career as a director, Icíar Bollaín from Spain, or Lucrecia Martel from Argentina, perhaps international film provides more fruitful material for discussion of gender and the gaze. This panel proposes to analyze gender in international filmmaking from a critical and theoretical standpoint. The papers on this panel will investigate how both men and women directors depict gender in film and how film as a medium addresses issues of transnational gendered identities. In what ways can we continue to move beyond the idea proposed by Laura Mulvey of the “male” gaze? Is there such as thing as the “female or genderless gaze”? How are masculinity and femininity depicted on the screen? How have concepts and expectations of gendered behaviors changed? Theoretical approaches dealing with female masculinity, masculinity in crisis, and feminist interpretations are welcome. Also welcome are papers dealing with “national” cinemas and how these smaller industries figure into a global context. Monográfico SIGLO XXI: «Literatura y nuevas tecnologías» Se prepara un número monográfico sobre Literatura y nuevas tecnologías, un tema de gran actualidad, abierto a múltiples enfoques: creación y difusión de la literatura en nuevos soportes, influencia de las nuevas tecnologías en la literatura, futuro de la literatura digital, nuevos géneros y estilos derivados de las redes sociales, hábitos de lectura en pantalla, etc. Los interesados en participar en este monográfico deberán enviar sus artículos, antes del 15 de septiembre, registrándose en: www.revistasigloxxi.com/revista/index.php/sigloxxi/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions | ||
